Christmas Stocking Haul

I finally decided on some Christmas stockings for the family after seemingly perusing all of the popular brands. I loved the Pottery Barn stockings, but for the price, I wasn’t able to find exactly what I wanted. They were almost too complicated to purchase. I needed something in the meantime that was simple, sturdy and large enough for stuffers.

Hubs and I haven’t exchanged proper gifts in a few years. It felt weird buying gifts when we pretty much buy various items we need throughout the year. So we decided to buy each other stocking stuffers instead. Things like: travel mugs, ornaments, manicure sets, etc.

The girls had their first Christmas last year, and I bought them “My First Christmas” stockings. So this year I had to find something more permanent. Note the puffy paint felt stockings we’ve used for years:

This year has been all about trying to update my lifestyle to reflect the fact that I’m somebody’s mom…having transformed the old “party house” into a family home has been painstaking. So far I’ve managed to replace all of the posters held up with thumbtacks with framed art and photos, hopefully a good start.

Here are the more grown-up stockings I’ve picked out:

We always include my sister in our stocking exchange as well, so we ordered her this one:

I’m really liking the stockings! The girls, miraculously, haven’t pulled them down yet! I’ll make a post with some stocking stuffer ideas soon, but I still have a bit of shopping to do on that!
